We look forward to seeing all our families at Open House tomorrow evening

Dr Seuss Week celebrating Reading Across America.

Mrs. Collier’s class sat just like that,
As we listened to The Cat in the Hat!
We giggled and wiggled at Thing One and Thing Two,
And all of the silly things they like to do!
When the story was done — oh what a treat!
We celebrated with something fun to eat!
With smiles so wide and manners so neat,
Our Cat in the Hat day just couldn’t be beat!

Dr Seuss week, celebrating Read Across America

We will have Dr. Seuss week, Monday, Mar. 2nd through Friday, Mar. 6th, celebrating "Read Across America". See the attached flyer for our dress up days.

This week, Mrs. McElroy’s class visited the Counselor's classroom, where Mrs. Botello has organized a series of centers showcasing various careers. These include professions such as construction workers, ambulance drivers, hairstylists, and roles within a doctor's office, among others.
With Career Week approaching in a few weeks, students are already being introduced to the diverse career opportunities available within our community.

Mrs. Reynolds’ and Mrs. Jones’ classes had so much fun graphing with candy hearts! Students sorted each color, counted their hearts, and created their own graphs while practicing important math skills.

Students in Mrs. Johnson’s class recently engaged with the story of *The Three Little Pigs* and subsequently undertook a creative project to construct houses using popsicle sticks, Q-tips, and Play-Doh. They then tested the strength of their creations by attempting to blow them down. It certainly appeared that they had a great deal of fun!

In today's art class, Mrs. Johnson's students created delightful hearts using shaving cream and paint. Our art paraprofessional, Mrs. Hines, demonstrated how to press their paper hearts into the mixture, allowing each student to craft their own unique masterpiece.

Congratulations to our students in Mrs. Wilkerson’s who received the Positive Office Referral. These individuals exhibited exemplary behavior, made commendable choices, and demonstrated outstanding leadership and kindness.

Our leadership team has continued to evaluate weather and road conditions across our community, as well as the forecast, and we’ve remained in constant communication with all appropriate agencies. With today’s warm-up, conditions have improved enough that Copperas Cove ISD will reopen and return to class on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at its normal start time.
CCISD buses will run at their normal time, and breakfast will be served at its normal time at every campus. Parents are encouraged to ensure their student is dressed warmly for the day.
Once students and staff return tomorrow, the district will begin a review of whether any changes to the academic calendar are required alongside district staff and the Board of Trustees. If so, those will communicated with families as soon as possible.
