Students in Mrs. Anderson’s and Mrs. Helbing’s classes engaged in a hands-on activity with Oobleck today, which is a fascinating mixture of water and cornstarch. They delighted in experiencing the unique texture and had a great time playing with this "slime."

Yesterday, Mrs. Straley's class engaged in a mosaic design project. Students utilized hand-torn construction paper in various shades of colors to create their unique Mosaic Trees. Each student demonstrated remarkable creativity and skill in their work.

Transition Fair

Today, in Mrs. Straley's class, students embarked on a nature walk around the school grounds to collect leaves. They observed the various colors, shapes, and sizes of the leaves they found. Upon returning to the classroom, the students engaged in creating drawings and sorting the leaves. This activity was met with enthusiasm and enjoyment from the students.

This week Douglas the Wandering Dragon from our Literacy Center has swooped into Mrs. Collier’s classroom, making a bunch of new pals! Her students have been nothing short of book discussion rock stars, showcasing top-notch manners and enthusiasm. Douglas will hang out with the class for a week, soaking up the awesome vibes and witnessing their daily adventures firsthand.

Wyatt Grimes, a student in Mrs. Reynolds' and Mrs. K. Jones' class, is the first this school year to achieve the remarkable goal of reading 300 books in the Book and Beyond Reading program. In recognition of his accomplishment, he has earned a free book of his choice from the Book Vending Machine, as well as an "I Love to Read" T-shirt. He is pictured alongside Principal Heather Peacock and Instructional Coach Kiki Richardson.
Congratulations, Wyatt!
Congratulations, Wyatt!

Mrs. Collier’s and Ms. Hunt’s Pre-K scientists had a blast last week making apple volcanoes! They used one of their most important science tools — their eyes — to make careful observations as the bubbly “lava” erupted from the apples. The students loved watching the colors mix and the fizzing reaction happen right before their eyes! Science is so much fun when we get to see it in action!

During our Scholastic Book Fair last week, all students who made purchases were entered into a drawing for a bucket filled with reading materials, a stuffed animal, and a tote bag. Yesterday, Ms. Richmond requested Principal Heather Peacock to select one boy and one girl as winners. We are pleased to announce that the winners are Oliver Stahler from Mrs. Zimmer-Clark’s classroom and Zaviah Zayas from Mrs. Collier’s classroom. Congratulations to our Book Fair bucket winners!
