House Creek Career Day! This March, House Creek hosted its exciting Career Day, welcoming community members to share insights into their professions and inspire our students. The children enthusiastically dressed up as their dream careers, rotating through various engaging stations filled with activities provided by each participating organization. We were thrilled to have representatives from CCPD, HEB, Benchmark Dental, Animal Control, Legacy Martial Arts, and many more. It was an unforgettable day of exploration, learning, and fun!
Recently, Mrs. Farnum's 5th grade students have been practicing identifying Greek and Latin roots in multisyllabic words. To make this learning process fun, the students played Morpheme Uno. Instead of matching numbers and colors, they matched words with similar morpheme patterns. This game allowed them to manipulate word patterns, decode multisyllabic words, and explore word meanings.
